Appointments &
Clinic Logistics
Do I need an orthopedic doctor's referral to consult Dr.
Arthy?
No referral is necessary. Physiotherapists are direct-access
primary healthcare professionals qualified to perform full
physical evaluations, orthopaedic joint assessments, and
neurological tests. However, if you already have prior X-ray
films, MRI reports, or hospital discharge summaries, please
bring them along to help tailor your care plan.
Why is the clinic strictly by-appointment? Can I walk in?
We maintain a strict appointment model to guarantee zero
waiting time and dedicated 1-on-1 therapist focus. While we do
accommodate urgent acute pain walk-ins whenever a bay opens
up, pre-booking guarantees that your dedicated therapist and
treatment cubicle are prepared exclusively for you.
What are the clinic working hours and days?
We operate two distinct daily shifts from Monday to
Saturday:
• Morning Session: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Evening Session: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Sunday appointments are available upon special advance request
for acute pain emergencies and working professionals.
Treatments & Pain
Management
Does physiotherapy hurt or cause more pain?
Our treatments are designed to relieve pain, not inflict it.
During deep joint mobilization or myofascial release on stiff
muscles, you may experience a therapeutic 'good stretch' or
mild tension, but our therapists continuously check your
comfort threshold. You are always in full control of your
session.
How many therapy sessions will I need before I see results?
Most patients notice substantial pain relief and improved
joint range within 3 to 5 sessions. Acute
conditions (like an ankle sprain or acute neck spasm)
typically resolve in 1 to 2 weeks, while chronic conditions
(such as severe disc herniation, frozen shoulder, or
post-stroke hemiplegia) benefit from structured 3 to 6-week
progressive rehabilitation.
What should I wear to my physiotherapy session?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy
movement and easy physical access to the affected joint (e.g.,
track pants, shorts, or a loose t-shirt for knee, shoulder, or
spine evaluation).
Can physiotherapy help me avoid spine or knee surgery?
In a large majority of cases, yes! International clinical
guidelines recommend exhausting conservative physiotherapy
before considering spinal fusion, disc surgery, or knee
replacements. By strengthening supportive muscle groups and
mechanically decompressing joints, symptoms often completely
resolve without invasive surgery.
Privacy & Female
Patient Care
Is there a qualified female physiotherapist available?
Yes. Dr. Arthy and our certified female physiotherapists are
always on-site. We provide completely private treatment rooms
to guarantee modesty, emotional reassurance, and comfort for
all women and elderly mothers.
Can family members accompany the patient into the treatment
room?
Yes, absolutely. Family members and caregivers are warmly
welcomed to attend the assessment. We frequently teach family
members simple assistive home exercises so they can support
the patient's recovery between sessions.
